Media speculation about BlackBerry has been hit or miss, but one thing for sure is that the BlackBerry 1o platform is still around! I have been using a BlackBerry device since 2007. The keyboard and email functionally were the things that drew me to the early java based operating system. Since the iPhone introduced in June 29, 2007, BlackBerry has seen it’s vast marketshare shrink drastically. One of the reasons is because of the lack of applications aka apps. When Apple introduced apps into the smartphone arena, people began to leave their BlackBerry’s behind and replace them with the iPhone.
The BlackBerry 10 OS released in January 2013. Click here for more info about the platform!
Have you ever wanted to develop an application? Well, I have the solution for you. All you need is a computer/laptop and a desire to learn. No prior programming knowledge is needed!! On April 1, 2013 (no joke), Anwar Ludin (with BlackBerry’s blessings) published a very detailed book that will help one to develop apps for the BlackBerry platform. The eBook version is FREE!! However, the printed version is $39.99! Since the BlackBerry 10 OS is fairly new and only a year old, this is an opportunity for someone like myself and others who have thought about app development, but didn’t know where to look for answers! Click here to get the book.
Why am I sharing this info? It is simple! BlackBerry users love to spend money on quality apps. Even if you are an iPhone and/or Android developer, this book will show you how to port your existing app into the BlackBerry 10 ecosystem! Exciting huh?!?!? Since iPhone and Android app stores are crowded with several of the same apps, the BlackBerry 1o platform is perfect for a developer who wants to get noticed! The BlackBerry community is very active and faithful so you can expect to see you $$$$ increase. So what are you waiting for??? Learn with me!!!
Here is a full description of what you can expect from the book.
